About Karyn

Karyn Gimbel Youso is a family law attorney and mediator in practice for over 27 years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and her law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Committed to low-conflict dispute resolution, Ms. Youso seeks to put her creative problem-solving skills to good use in both her divorce practice and in her role as mediator. Her family law practice has always included an emphasis on cases involving domestic abuse, substance abuse, and mental illness.

Ms. Youso formerly chaired the Public Education Committee of the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin as well as serving on its Board, and participated on the Public Education Committee of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She served as a Board member of the State Bar of Wisconsin Family Law Section, as well as on the Wisconsin Governor’s Council on Domestic Abuse – Justice Committee Batterers’ Treatment Certification and Standards Workgroup. Karyn has three daughters, and spends much of her free time volunteering for various non-profit fundraising efforts.
